Clinical and Interpretive

Rupture of Membrane is a rapid qualitative immunochromatograpic test for the in vitro detection of amniotic fluid in vaginal secretions of pregnant women.  The ROM Plus© test uses the principles of immunochromatography to detect human PP12 (Placental Protein 12, also known as Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-1/IGFBP-1) and Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) proteins present in amniotic fluid of pregnant women.

Specimen Stability

Stability: Test must be performed by the laboratory within six(6) hours of collecting the vaginal samples and placing it in the buffer vial.
